I've always been interested in how people, organizations, and places develop an identity that's distinctly their own.

My career started in urban design and has since taken me from leading and transforming a mission-driven nonprofit, to earning an MBA at the University of Chicago, to advising on major corporate brand transformations.

Along the way, I've helped shape most of the organizations I've belonged to, not just the ones I've advised. It's perhaps no surprise, then, that I developed a specialty in advising elite professional services firms, working with firms like Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where identity is inseparable from the expertise, judgment, and character of their people.

Of course, organizations don't build themselves. Having built one from the ground up, I remember how exhilarating and daunting the process can be, and how much it helped to have people in my corner who weathered the ups and downs with me.

Today, I bring that same spirit of patient partnership, plus the rigor of brand strategy, to my work with individuals, founders, and leaders, helping them recognize what makes them distinctive and put it to work in what they build and become.

Away from work, I'm usually learning a language, investigating the origins of a word, or making a mess with watercolor and charcoal.
